This is an editorial buying guide, not a controlled scientific benchmark. The ranking considers output quality, control, reliability, audio, restrictions, access and the likely cost of reaching one usable clip.

The best overall model in this ranking.

Seedance 2.5 has the strongest combination of realism, motion, reference control, character preservation and longer audiovisual generation. Choose it when the result matters more than the price.

The catch is the price of repeated generations and heavy guardrails. There is no clean public cash rate that works across every platform, so I would not pretend it is cheap.

Verdict: Best overall. You may need to sell a kidney to keep rerolling.

Seedance 2.0 produced the previous big quality jump. It remains excellent for reference-driven shots, action, camera movement and character consistency.

Its 15-second ceiling and the arrival of 2.5 keep it out of S.

Verdict: Proven professional choice, but no longer the highest ceiling.

H3 is the best open-weight model here. It accepts text, images, video and audio, generates stereo sound and supports local deployment through its released weights.

Setup can be demanding, and Seedance remains more dependable for world knowledge, physics and polished commercial work.

Verdict: The strongest alternative for creators who value open weights, control or cheaper hosted access.

Kling earns A for character-led videos. It can preserve reusable characters and voices while giving creators useful storyboard and camera controls.

Complex multi-shot action can still break, and unsuccessful rerolls burn credits quickly.

Verdict: Best choice for recurring characters and character-led advertisements.

Google positions Omni Flash as its default video model. Its best trick is conversational editing: change one part of a clip while preserving the rest. It remains in preview, and some editing features are region-limited.

Verdict: Try it for editing and fast iteration before buying around it as your only generator.

FLUX 3 is particularly interesting for typography, dialogue, style range and native audio.

It is also in early access, and several combined reference workflows are still developing.

Verdict: Strong for styled or text-heavy videos, but not yet the safest all-round purchase.

LTX-2.5 is built for fast experimentation. It offers open weights, native multishot generation and a rapidly improving ComfyUI workflow.

The trade is setup friction and uneven output quality compared with the strongest closed models.

Verdict: Useful when iteration speed and local control matter more than the highest first-pass quality.

Sora changed expectations for creativity, cinematic composition and synchronized sound.

OpenAI now labels the API model as deprecated. Restrictions, cost and stronger current alternatives make it difficult to recommend starting with Sora today.

Verdict: Important model, weak current buying decision.

Veo can still produce polished cinematic videos with native audio, strong realism and useful frame controls.

The problem is value. Repeated experiments become expensive, while newer models offer broader reference workflows or cheaper iteration.

Verdict: Good output. Buy only when its specific controls fit your job or you already have access.

Runway remains useful for camera choreography, sequenced prompts and attractive motion.

Gen-4.5 produces short, silent clips, and unreliable attempts can burn through credits. This is the lowest-confidence D placement and depends heavily on the work you make.

Verdict: Do not subscribe specifically for Gen-4.5 unless its camera workflow is exactly what you need.
