Install it.

Run one command.

Wait for the model to download.

Then chat with it locally.

Download Ollama:

Open terminal.

Run this model:

This is the Gemma 4 E4B Heretic GGUF model.

The Q4_K_M version is the one to start with because it is smaller than the high-quality versions.

It is still a few GB, so the first download can take time.

If that command does not work, try the Ollama library version:

Once the download is done, Ollama opens a chat in your terminal.

Ask a simple test question first:

Then try your real prompts.

If it feels slow, your laptop is not broken.

The model may just be too heavy.

Pick a smaller model.

Just ask your AI about how to do that! 🙂

Use it for things where you want more control:

This does not mean the model is always right.

It just means it is less likely to block you before the conversation starts.
