Five months later, the gap looks less comfortable.

Seedance 2.5 can generate 30 seconds in one pass. FLUX 3 entered early access. Wan3.0 opened a public beta. MiniMax released H3 and then published its weights all have seedance 2.0 level capability

People downloaded H3 and started making sitcom scenes, interviews and multi-shot mashups on consumer GPUs..

Judge an AI video model on three things:

The third question changes the category. A closed demo shows what a lab can make. Public weights let developers test, modify and build around the model.

Seedance 2.5 can generate a 30-second audio-video sequence in one pass. It can also accept up to 30 images, 10 videos and 10 audio clips as references.

Gina Costa's example is a 30-second martial-arts sequence. The same character moves through several action beats while the camera follows her through the temple.

Her useful observation is about retries. She says earlier tools sometimes needed a dozen generations before producing something usable. This clip worked on the first generation.

That is one creator's result, not a reliability benchmark. It still shows where the competition is moving: longer scenes with fewer paid failures.

Wan3.0 is also in public beta with 30-second generation. FLUX 3 can produce up to 20 seconds with native audio through gated early access.

Neither release is an open-weight video model today. Black Forest Labs says a future FLUX 3 Dev release will provide open weights. Alibaba's Wan3.0 announcement does not promise them.

MiniMax says H3 supports video up to 15 seconds at 2K with native stereo audio. Its model weights are now available on Hugging Face.

The community examples tell a better story than another benchmark graph.

In one locally generated interview, Death sits in a chair while its face keeps changing between ordinary people. At first it looks like a model failure. The prompt deliberately asked for the face to change.

The creator reports running it on an RTX 4080 with 16 GB of VRAM and 64 GB of system RAM. The generation took about 30 minutes. H3 was already running outside MiniMax's own interface.

Another creator made a crossover between familiar sitcom characters, complete with dialogue, reactions and camera cuts.

A second local test puts a sitcom character beside an action star, moves them through a shopping centre, a broken office window and a motorcycle scene, then ends with a fake television title card. The creator says it came from one prompt on an RTX 4090.

AIWarper's clip recreates the rhythm of a police sitcom: a recognisable office, spoken performance and a joke built around the actors.

These are messy remix experiments. They also involve obvious questions about copyrighted characters, actor likenesses and consent.

But they demonstrate direction. H3 can follow intentional weirdness, hold a performance across cuts and reproduce familiar television grammar well enough for the joke to work.

Maybe the first part of it.

Seedance 2.5 supports 30-second clips and far more reference inputs. H3 tops out at 15 seconds and still needs serious hardware or a hosted provider. The creator posts do not reveal every failed generation.

The exclusivity window is shrinking, though.

Seedance 2.0 shocked people in February. By August, an open-weight model was already producing locally generated scenes with dialogue, camera cuts and multiple characters.

The winner can change. The shrinking delay is easier to measure.
